ReadingSounds™ 1 Pro is stable on almost all computer systems. When problems occasionally occur, they usually occur with the trial version of the program as it requires access to the internet. Problems can usually be quickly resolved by checking the following:
If you are downloading, installing and/or activating ReadingSounds™ 1 Pro on a school computer, please note that school computers frequently have very high levels of security settings. These security settings may prevent you from downloading, installing and/or activating the program. Most issues are caused by firewalls interfering with the trial version of the program. If you are experiencing difficulties, please try temporarily disabling your firewall or temporarily disabling the internet while running the trial version of the program.
Difficulties downloading the trial version?
Your school's IT department may be preventing downloads. The solution is to ask your IT department to allow downloads from www.readingdoctor.com.au, or to download the trial at home and bring it to school on a CD-ROM or USB drive.
Windows reports that the installation file is corrupted
This is a common problem for some firewalls and virus scanners when downloading files from the internet. The firewall/scanner makes a small change to the downloaded file and Windows erroneously reports that the file is corrupted. The solution is to temporarily turn off your virus scanner and firewall when downloading the trial. Don't forget to turn it on again afterwards!
Difficulties running the trial version?
Most difficulties are caused by school firewalls. If you experience difficulties with running the program once you have downloaded it, please temporarily disable your firewall. The easiest way to do that is to switch off your internet connection while running the ReadingSounds™ 1 Pro trial.
The trial version "freezes", or an "Unexpected Error Occurred When Running the Game" error occurs after running the trial version
We have recently discovered that this error can occur on some systems running the trial version of ReadingSounds™ 1 Pro for the following reasons:
(These issues occur only in the trial version)
1. Your firewall may be interfering with the program
ReadingSounds™ 1 Pro trial version is protected by Activemark technology and needs to be able to pass through your internet firewall to run
Solution:
- please try temporarily disabling your firewall and run the program again
- please try temporarily disconnecting the internet (pull out the internet cable or turn off your modem) and run the program again
2. After initially installing the program, this error may occur as a consequence of a Windows issue. Simply restarting the computer should fix the issue.
This is not an issue in the full version of the program as once your license is activated the software no longer needs to send any information over the internet.

Please note that an offline activation system is available for activating licenses. To access the offline activation process, please temporarily disable the internet connection on the computer you wish to activate the license on and use the 'Offline Activation' method.

- Internet Connection (required for license activation)

- Windows XP, Windows Vista
- Direct X 8.0 or better
- 256 Megabytes of RAM
- 1024 x 768 (or better) screen resolution with 32 bit colours

- 250 Megabytes of Hard Disk Drive space
- Internet Connection (required for license activation)
